It will pop if you have an electrical short somewhere in your system. If it does pop it is best to try and find out what made it pop.

I am new to them myself, but I am catching on fast.

    It's a circuit breaker.

Although, I've never seen, nor actually heard anyone say that it "popped".

I've accidenatlly grounded the elec box before and never tripped the darn thing.

And a number of guys have actaully melted the ground wires all the way up to the stator, never tripping the thing.....

So to answer your Q, it does nothing.

I'd actually like to hear from someone that it DID trip for, and how that happened?

LOL!! Us Jersey guys have a habit of using words that others may not use to mean the same thing, especially us Italians. So the reason I used the word "popped" was meant to mean the same as "tripped".

Around here when the breaker in the house trips most of us say "The breaker just popped, someone get a flashlight."

Jersey......It's just fuct up around here.

Sorry TC, wasn't even addressing your slang.

I LITERALLY meant that I've never read anyone that actually had the breaker trip/pop.

    Sorry
