    Genesis--drive shaft seal disloged

I have a 1999 Genesis (carbed) with new drive shaft seals installed late last year. After riding the ski around for about an hour, the individual Chevron seal closest to the engine dislodges itself from the alum. adapter (with a zirk fitting). When I replaced the seals last year, I did NOT replace the adapter--simply cleaned it up slightly and gently pressed in the new seals. What can I do to "lock-in" this seal? The seals and shaft appear undamaged.

Did you use a power grease gun to inject grease into the through-hull bearing?

Normally the seals stay put with the usual friction fit.

If the housing is worn or damaged where the seal sits, then it is time for another housing. They are not expensive used.

About $60 new, including the seals.
