Question about "sensor" displaying on startup
When I start my 04 RXP, the word sensor comes up on the screen for a few seconds and then goes away. Is that normal?

yup most likely compass out of range... if your battery was un hooked for a long time or if the connection was loose and you tried to start it etc... or even if your terminals are SLIGHTLY loose and not getting 100% charge it can throw that code...
follow those intstructions and see what code pops up... if it is p1517 it is compass out of range like i said and you have to get it cleared by a dealer with BUDS.... Nothing bad just a bad connection or somthing and it disables your vts when it throws the code for some reason, once the code is cleared the dealer will turn your vts back on... Hope i have helped.... Kyle
p.s: if it is p1517 the ski will run perfectly fine just will not have vts control, just in case you "have" to ride sometime soon and cant get to a dealer...

my 2004 RXP does EXACTLY the same thing, it's been that way for over a year, it doesnt cause ANY issues, trim works fine too.
I never take my skis to a dealer unless I have to so doubt Ill be getting this re-set anytime soon.

There wont be any "codes" to clear, just an option set incorrectly (most likely due to low voltage) in BUDS, the same gauge & software is used in all models in the same year so the craft needs to be told which "options" are fitted ie VTS, lake temp, speedo, compass, depth gauge, etc.
Or one of those accessories has a fault (broken speed sensor, etc).
