    RXP Purchase Advise.

    I need some opinions,
I'm getting ready to purchase an RXP but need some feedback on the certain years, I'm looking into either getting a 05,06,07 RXP. I dont know either to try to find a 07 because I believe the valves are upgraded and the charger is better in a way. I will look for a low hour ski, thats stock, and that has never swallowed ceramics. Really really I'm leaning towards an 07 but I'm not sure what all changed, on that year, I wont even go for an 04.
Please dont suggest getting an RXP-X or something fancy like that.

I pretty much want it for a rec weekend ride. (and maybe add a few mods)

I would be looking for a 08+ RXP, because of the SCer washers and 08 exhaust set up. I have seen 07 RXPs have SCer clutch washer failure in less than 10 hours. A friend had one. We were at a lake just riding around nothing crazy. Anyway we stopped for lunch. He goes to start his ski, cranks no start. Washers broke and then it jumped timing resulting in no start.

Agree ... and the '08 up have the SC oiler too. If I was going to buy another RXP, I would go 2008.

I was thinking the same thing, 2008 = no ceramics. The problem with the others is; you really don't know if they ate the ceramics or not. Sure it may have been "repaired," but I'm sure a lot of people took the shortcut and never pulled the motor, so his oil pumps have been slowly starving the internals for a year or so, then YOU come along and buy it just in time to throw a rod through the side.

Well looks like I wont be getting a ski this summer, most likely at the end of summer. Until I save up enough.
