    Fixing minor abrasions from beaching

I recently posted a question about fixing a gash from a rock, but I figured while I was down there working on it I'd fix up some of the small grooves running from bow to stern from the abrasion of the sand. Is a polishing compound enough for this, or should I hit it with some extra find wet/dry sandpaper first? If sandpaper first, is the 600 wet/dry I bought fine enough or should I go finer?

    Thanks!
    Scott

If the scratches are deep then you need to add material (gelcoat) or you will be digging the material out around the damage.

Compound wont do much but remove hazing and fine scratches, if you add material, knock it down (carefully) blend with 600 , cut it and buff it.
