    should engine turn over with no CDI

    if I have a 94 sl750 should the engine turn over with the cdi box removed?

    Are you talking about the entire electrical box being missing or unplugged, or just the CDI module within the electrical box being disconnected?

    If just the CDI module is disconnected and everything else is still connected then the starter should still crank the engine.

    well then i must have messed something up.. becuase i have two skis with CDI out of them that will not turn over, the displays are on the landyards are in place but the button does nothing.... ok now im scared

    Is the lanyard in place?
    On some models, it will not crank without the lanyard.

    Follow the electrical power flow.

    Trace it from the battery positive into the electrical box, and to the start button. The Yellow/Red wire then brings the power back from the start button to the solenoid.

    Make sure you have not disconnected any of the Black or Ground wires within the electrical box.

    The starter system is REALLY basic.

    The start button runs 12v into the starter solenoid, which connects the starter to the battery. Thats it.

    If it wont turn over, you probably disconnected the wire that goes from the start button to the solenoid.
