why doesnt grease zerk line up on skat seal?

well i have new bearings and seals for my skat seal, but looking at this i dont know if i want to run it. The grease fitting doesnt line up with the hole in the bearing. Granted it would still fill the seal up with grease but the grease willnt get to the inside of the needle bearings i wouldnt think. what do you guys think....

in this picture this is where the original bearing was located and the land for the seal starts.

To be honest mate i have never trusted those grease nipples and they def do not get the grease around the bearing.

Every second ride i pull my my pump out and take my seal out and pack grease in to it manually and dont use the zerk.

I have done this for the past 35 hours with no problems.

If you grease with the engine running it gets the grease all around the bearing, I give mine a few pumps and make sure the grease coming out of the seal has little on no milkyness (water) in it.

I also use a very high quality lithium based waterproof grease.

    Skat seal.

I would do what Rick XP says and grease it manually . Your front seal will be weaker than your rear seal so all you will do is push new grease out the front and any water in the housing will stay there. Your front seal is weakened over time from the heat of the engine and rpm but the rear stays cool from being in water most of the time.I have made my own bearing seal and over the last 6 months of testing multiple types and styles of seals and bearings i have found very interesting results with regard to temp of driveshaft near the PTO while running !!!!

would it be ok to flip the rear seal around? mine came with the spring on the outside... needless to say it rusted off in no time... even though it was probably stainless....

    Skat seal

You can flip the seal but its pressure retaining ability is reduced. Go to your local bearing supply store and ask for a rubber o-ring the same size as the garter spring in the seal and swap them over. What size and make is the seal ?

    it says NAK TC - 29 46 - 8 - 1

    the dashes are little boxes....

i dont under stand where this bearing is supposed to ride... is it supposed to ride centered over the keeper clip for the carbon ring?
