What i would do is look at your parts manual. Find the part number, then look at a different parts manual with a 717... like my 95XP. if the part numbers are the same, then you are good to go.

I don't have a manual. I looked at the OEM parts finder and it didn't go back to 1995 on the manifold. I think that the part #'s would be different on different engines. I was thinking that someone would have tried this swap before.

There are some parts catalogs available, with a little searching, for some that had the 657x in them. (But yeah Seadoo cuts off at 96 now, right? Which Sux).
I know my 95 SPX has the 657x and you should be able to find a 95 XP(720) parts catalog to look up the 717 and a catalog for the 657x.
I had to do it compare the 657 vs. 657x ... and it was hard to find a basic 657 catalog.
Search google for 'seadoo manuals parts manual' ... and it should get you started in the right direction to find what you need for cross-ref ... in case no one already knows the answer ...
hope that helps.

I got a 717 manifold on ebay. It matched up with my 657x. No problems.
