    msx trouble codes

    2003 msx 140

i made up the diagnostic l.e.d. flash that K447 has and it works great thanks for that info
and what i got for codes were

43 coolant temp sensor above expected ranger
41 coolant temp sensor circuit malfunction
52 #3 pto fuel injector open load

now i found the coolant temp snsor near exhaust side and ohmed it out at 1002 ohms
do you think that could be failing intermittenly

    what the ski does is:
Ran fine all day except about 4 times. The ski I think goes into s.l.o.w. mode but I get no lights on the display or anything saying limp or slow modes, but it takes the r.p.m.s down to about 3500 if I stay on the gas, but if I let off and back on the throttle it takes off right away and everything is fine sometimes it does it again real soon other times its like 30 min later.

and as far as the 52 code any ideas or does the emm open the pto injector to go into s.l.o.w. mode

thanks in advance any help is appreciated

The EMM does not trigger code 52 for SLOW mode. SLOW mode is the result of a condition that may or may not trigger a code, but SLOW mode does not itself trigger codes.

I would be looking for dirty, greasy or intermittent connections, or damaged wiring.

Check the temp sensor connectors (both halves). Clean any dielectric grease out of the contacts (I use an electrical contact cleaner, non-residue type). Look for anywhere the wiring may be rubbing or damaged.

    Same for the injector connector.

If you have an intermittent connection it can trigger SLOW mode. The EMM does not clear SLOW mode until you release the throttle AND the condition is no longer happening.

    thanks for the quick response

so should i disregard 52 for now and concentrate more on 43 and 41 cleaning connections and checking wires
do you think it could be a bad intermitten sensor

    thanks

I think you should examine and clean all the connections discussed (temp sensor and injector). If that doesn't fix it, replace the temp sensor.

Clear the Service codes from the EMM.

Hopefully the Injector trouble code doesn't come back.
