2008 RXT-X front hood shock won't hold up???
Bought used 2008 RXT-X, front hood shock was off (broken). I ordered a new one from dealer and installed but it keeps popping out of mount pins...WHYEEEEE???? This happens almost immediately when closing (compressing) the hood ,down. Hey, any other 08 RXT-X owners having this same problem??? Ordered replacement part SHOCK-GAZ ASSY #269501625..Whats UP

I have the same problem with my 2005 RXT, it keeps popping off, has not broken but will not stay connected for more than a couple days on the water. I cut a piece of extra hardwood I had and I just keep it in the storage area (obviously there is more than enough room in there) to prop it open. Im thinking its just a crap design but I would also be curious to hear from others.

I just re installed mine last night. The reason mine came off was the bracket was loose and I didn't tighten it like I was advised to lol. Have you checked to make sure the bracket bolts are tight.

How do you compress it to get it back on? The couple times I actually had mine put back on was when it was under warranty and the dealer did it.

Take of the l shaped bracket from the hood. Pop the ball on. Then there is a bracket that a 1/2 ratchet goes in where you can compress l rod back on. There is a thread here with pictures if you can search bro.

Any luck? Been trying all summer? Any chance you can snap of photog of the male end that the piston attaches to on the I bracket (not on the floor)?
