    Q regarding my new 2010 RXP-X

So i have just put 10 hrs on my new 2010 rxpx. Its time for an oil change seeing as how i have done my 10 hrs of break in. Now i have read the posts on the oil change (theories/process) and feel like i have a pretty good handle on what i am going to be doing. The question that i have is should i go with the 10w-40 amsoil that i can get from the site, and should i be replacing the filter after the ten hours of break in. Or can i simply change the oil and look to change the filter when i do my next oil change at the beginning of the next season.

Change both bro. You may can get the oil locally as well. Check the various oil threads for alternate brands.

Why not just stick with the Doo oil? I ended up getting the oil change kit that comes with the plugs, filter, and gaskets. Ended up cheaper than just getting the oil an filter separtely.

Always change the filter when you change your oil. Ran Amsoil last year no problems, running Mobil now and seems to be good. (Knocking on Wood)
keep your records that changed the oil so if you do have any Warranty issues.

    Good luck man, its easy.

My dealer told me that I had to bring mine in for the 10 hour service or the warranty would be void. Is that not correct? Too late now, I got it back last week from service.

IMO, always change the oil filter with the oil, especially the first one. You want to get the assembly lube out of the system!

It only takes about 3.3 qts of oil. Make sure you start the motor 2-3 times using the "FLOOD" mode, to get all the oil in the oil pan, per the shop manual.

I have used Amsoil WCF 10w-40 in my ski's for 5 years with zero issues.

My 10 hour "Maint Required" light/message did not appear until 12 hours. Did all work myself, and my dealer reset the code, logged 10 hour check done - no warranty issues. Some dealers are great and some aren't!!!!

You know I use to do the "Flood Mode" thing during oil changes. I don't do it anymore and still get 3QTs out. I just don't see the sense of spinning the engine over with little to no oil getting to the oil pumps for .3QT of oil.

im def going to change them both out. i bought the oil change pack that comes witht the o ring and spark plugs. This is the first time i will be doingthis but i think i got a good handle on it. Should i also be looking to change the o ring and is there anything else i should be looking at or inspecting while giving it the ten hour oil change. The last five hours or so were primarily in choppy water so i could not do as much of the break in process as i would have liked (in terms of wot sperts followed by varying throttle 1/2 and 3/4 etc.). It feels great though riding it and havnt really noticed any problems besides it idling a little high but i was able to tweek that.

Thanks for the info though its been a big help
