winter damage to my 2006 GTX

I own a 2006 GTX. I stored it outside this winter and when I started it up before my first lake trip the idle is very high and its making a louder than normal tone from the exhaust. I didnt take it to the shop to winterize, I just put in some fuel stabilizer, and flushed it out well. I live in Reno, NV and it gets below freezing, I am wondering if I damaged the intercooler or exhaust system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure but if you had water in your exhaust system and it froze, it is possible you split something open. If it doesn't sound the way it normally does, I'd say it is a safe bet something has been damaged. You don't say whether you have a SC model. If you don't, then you don't have an inter-cooler and the problem would be with the exhaust system only.

The manual for my 2010 RXT X says the following:

    Exhaust System Protection

    In areas where temperature may
freeze, water trapped in the exhaust
system and intercooler must be removed.
    Using the flushing connector located
on the port (LH) side of the stern, inject
pressurized air at 379 kPa (55 PSI) into
system until there is no more water
    flowing from jet pump.

NOTICE Failure to drain the exhaust
    system may cause severe
    damage to the intercooler (superchargedmodels)
    and exhaust manifold.

+1 Each fall/winter i do all the winterization steps including sealing off the flushing port with an inner tube, inserting an air compressor blow gun, and blowing all water out so you don't crack the water-box, piping, ect. very important.
