haver you ever picked up a 4tec engine? or any 4 stroke? they weigh much much more than our 2 stroke engines.
just imagine the few motor mounts trying to hold that engine in place during impact.
    something gotta give sometime

nope never....so basically if you wanna play a lot with the ski you better take a 2 stroke or in the best case an rxp ? or not even that.. I have a gtx and i was thinking of hitting some waves, but hence i will not

As a rider who spends at least 50% of his time looking for waves to jump, I'd say that the video doesn't show the type of jumping that is hard on the hull. You will notice that the Sea Doo approaches vertical with the stern about 2' out of the water and then drops stern first into the water and the boat splashes back into the water.

I have jumped a fair bit this way and the landing is quite soft. As the Sea Doo rotates back towards horizontal the energy is absorbed by the water being squeezed forward, creating that forward spray.

The jumps that are the hardest on the hull are the ones where you launch off a wave at speed and get airborne in an almost horizontal position and then land on the crest of another wave. Even jumping in that manner, with 125 hours of running time on my old Sea Doo (2004 GTX 4TEC SC), I had no issues with the hull or the engine mounts. We'll have to see how things go with the new S3 hull on my 2010 RXT X.

The better question is how deep was the water over the sand bar? If it was less than 6' ..... Look out wear ring and impeller!

What about the chances of ripping off your reverse bucket? Especially on with the new iBR system etc.

I'm betting the stress on the reverse bucket is allot worse when you are travelling at 68 mph and hit the brake, causing the bucket to drop into the flow of water and hold steady as the engine rpm climbs to slow the ski.

Agreed... best bet is to just remove that monstrosity in the first place.
