Thread: Jet stream

    Jet stream

While riding my 02 GTi I looked back and it seemed as though my impeller is pushing the water a little bit "up". I don't have a real good way to explain it but it looked like if I had a wake boarder behind me that I would actually be more spraying water underneath him than pulling him across the water.

On my ski, is there anything I can do to fix this or is that just the way it is?

What changes to the ride would come about by changing the angle of the impeller?

A GTI does not have any kind of trim adjustment. It should be shooting straight back in relation to the centerline of the hull (more or less).

Some folks opt. to use a pump wedge to get more Up angle on pump and nozzel to lift the bow in the search for more speed.

On some of the older boats there was a way to notch the steering nozzel slightly up or down. I am not sure if that model has it. I worked on an '02 GTI not long ago
and do not remember seeing it.

If there is no adjustment then just ride it. Wedging up will make it ride worse in chop and trying to wedge it down would be, well disapointing, IMO.

Thanks. That's the info I was looking for.
