    215 charger on 185 engine

    I want to put my S3 215 Supercharger on my 185 gtx sc.

    I know I need to swap out gears on charger, correct???

    Can this be done with out have to reset the slip and all that BS>
    Jerry just rebuilt it for me and I upgraded my RXT to X charger, so
    I want to use it.

    to changed gears you would have to reset the slip because the gear is between the slip washers,

    wont you lose performance running the 185hp 17 tooth gear instead of the 215hp 16 tooth gear??

    Yes and yes. Probably 1 psi of boost.

    Changing the SC gear and resetting the slip is only the first step. Next you need to pull the motor and change the flywheel gear. Then change the fuel regulator at the top of the fuel tank. Next install 42 lb injectors.
    I have a 2006 185 HP GTX that I have been running for several years and the above is what you need to get started with your new SC.
    This should get you to about 62-63 GPS MPH.
    Then a 13/20 prop--and a 85 ring in the venturi.
    If you want me to post on this thread what else it takes to go over 70 MPH let me know . Dont let anyone tell you the cast pistons and rods cant take it. I have two years on my current set up and no issues.

    What I am wanting to do is put the correct gear on the Riva S3 charger so
    it will bolt right into my 185 hp engine...
    Not wanting to change the configuration of the 185 .

    I did this with a friends GTX ... took a new X charger and just swapped on the GTX SC gear. Reset slip and put it in ... worked great! But you gotta take care of the 40 needle bearings under the gear and you will need to adjust slip; neither is a big deal tho.

    Just wanted to know what's involved to do this..
    Not sure IF I want to do it quite yet.. but hate seeing a brand new S3 on
    my workbench not pumping any boost

    What was done for fueling? Just wondering?
