    polaris pro 785 ring job

Im doing a ring job on my polaris and got done last night I did a compression check on it and it was about 120 per cylinder. This was without it firing up should it still be around 140/150? Or is it low because rings havent seated yet?

140 to 150 on a stock 785 head is way to high. 120-130 is about right.

Well I got it to fire for like 2 seconds but after it did,it sounds almost like the starter is engaging but not turning the motor over.So I removed the plugs and it started to turn over not under pressure.I also removed the starter after this and it seems fine. Let me give you a little history on what I know about it.Its 97 polaris 785 I bought it mainly for the double trailor and the ski was on it and was apart mainly in the top end. One piston was gone and another was cracked along the bottom,so I ordered 2 pistons and complete rings and top gasket set. the guy I got it from knew nothing of the history of it. So thats where I am any sugestion on what it could be?
