    Genesis Exhaust Routing

I have a 99 Genesis, and I have noticed that the exhaust is piped like that of a X-45. That is, one hose coming out of the water box then down into the bottom of the craft, then out near the prop/pump. In the service manual it show the hose coming out if the water box then going into a "Y" adapter to split it into two hoses, each the same size as the original, then each hose going into the corners of the craft, then out. I have an opportunity to get the parts to make it like the manual. Is this something worth messing with? Or is it fine the way it is. My understanding of engines is the less resistance you have going out the better running the engine will be.

Yes and that is the confusing part. I see how the manual says it should be, my boat has the connections in the rear corners for the hoses, yet it is like the picture attached. I do have parts, 20 and 29 too. Which one is best for this PWC? My guess would be the way Polaris originally designed it. Any ideas?

If the parts are cheap enough, I'd say try it and see what happens.

I have also have seen it both ways. I think one is early build and one is a late build. On the boats I have rode it doesn't seem to run any faster just sound change since it comes out the bottom and not out the back.

Thanks for the info 4stroker, that is about what I was thinking. Mine must have been right in the middle. I think I may mix it up an bit and do a little of both. I may "Y" off the water box and have one output go out the back and one out a side. I don't think it will make much difference but who knows, maybe I will get just a bit better fuel econamy...... we will see....... thanks again mate.
