1999 Yamaha 1200 XL Limited oil block off

I bought the oil block off kit, but when I try to install it it seems like the plug part of the plate is too big. It sits on the hole but it does not seat in it. Is this normal and do I have to force it in, or should it seat in there on it's own. I'll take a picture shortly.

Here is the best pic I could pull off. It doesn't want to seat. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...gs/Dave123.jpg

Install the plate on the opposite side. Remember to put some high temp silicone to seal the plate.

I ended up using my oil pump. I pulled the lines and put caps on the nipples. I used two zip ties on each one and put a screw into the oil intake and used two zip ties to close it up. That should work, right?
