    Angry Ski melted

Has this happened to anyone? The ski is parked outdoors in the sun but has a ski cover and a car cover on top of it. I was shocked when I took off the covers to use it and saw this. You would think that they used better plastics. I've had 5 skis of different brands parked in the same spot for many years and this is the first time it happened.

It's a good thing the part is light and cheap at $39 though. Thanks for coming through, Jerry.

Yes it is quite hot here in the tropics and it is a pain to change out. This is the second time I had to change it. The first one cracked.

is it a Kawasaki ski cover ?

Reason I ask is if it was too tight across that area it wont help, your problem

even tho that screen shouldnt melt .

I have felt mine after sitting in 35 degree C for a few hrs and it does get slightly soft,
so imagine it under a cover with no breeze to cool and possible extra downward pressure

    Waz

Yes it was a Kawi cover but there was a loose car cover on top of it. It can get up to 39 degrees C here during summer and that's the time I noticed it.

I have been to Lake Mead but not Havasu and it's no where near as humid as it it here.

    Glad you enjoyed your stay.

    Here are some more pics.

I removed the whole hood for easier access.

    Fixed.

I bought some roof insulation material to put in between the ski cover and the car cover. I'm sure this will work. (I hope)

At this point I noticed that the part where the handlebar grips meet the ski cover were melted also.
