Filling bored holes in rade plate

Anyone see any issue with me filling the lets call them counterbore holes in the ride plate? I was going to fill them with silicon as they seem to add drag, trying to squeeze everything out of it I can for mph and thats on the top of my list.

In one of the "how to's" in the 4 stroke section, there was a write up on using nylon string coiled in on top of the screw and epoxy putty or JB over it sanded flush. If needed to remove, you break thru the epoxy and pull the string out to get at the clean screw head. I think that is how it went. It was slick, man.
