    2000 XP & 2001 XP Recommendations

I'm looking for feedback / opinions... looking to purchases 2 SeaDoo's; a 2000 XP and a 2001 XP with trailer for ~6k. I haven't looked at them yet so I don't know the condition.

Can anyone provide recommendations? Are these models reliable? Should I stay away from 2 stroke? Anything to watch out for?

    Thanks!

    Reg

if you can check the compression on them do so! should be around 140psi
also see if the grey fuel lines are still there, if so you can do a search here about it and learn about it, and talk the seller down a bit.

Thanks for the feedback. Will check compression… fuel lines don’t appear to be a big job if they need replacement.
    Thanks for your help!

reliable ? Yes if you keep up on the maintenance. As far as the ski's in general, it depends on exactly what you're looking for in a ski, where you're going to ride, and if you plan on having passengers much. IMO these ski's are more of a 1 seater than a 2 seater, you can ride double but it takes some practice. I have a 2001 XPL and a 3 seater yamaha and take one of them out depending on where and when i'm riding, for a short & sassy solo ride i'll take the xp, for a long river cruise or with passengers, the xp stays home and pouts.

and yes, i'd use grey lines as an excuse to lowball, but its a fairly easy job.

the fuel line replacement also involves rebuilding the carbs and cleaning out the fuel selector,
its about a 3-4 hour job for the newbie, and a total of about 100 dollars, for the carb rebuild kits and fuel lines.

Thanks for all the great feedback, this site is great!

I plan to be using this in the bay, river and lakes. I"ll probably always have a passenger with me.

not really confortable when riding with a passanger unless you weight 100 lbs and the passenger weighs 100 lbs.
its good riding straight but when you want to get a little crazy, the whole ski will flip
