    quick question for the pro's(785)

Hi, I have to rebuild my pump and found out a rock when thru the prop, so the prop is pretty beat up now. I have the stock 12/17 and my friend gave me a brand new Polaris prop number 5131686 which I think is a 17/24(based on my research on this site) Is the prop too steep for the 785, the engine has FA's and Reeds and the carbs were rejetted. Thanks for the help!

Yes, That prop is too steep. From what my friend has found on his 785's. You should stay with the 12/17-12/18 or if you cannot find them, try 13/18

If that is a 17/24, that is WAYYYY too steep. You'll never turn the RPM high enough to make nearly 8000 RPM.

Get another 12/17 or have yours refurbished by Impros or Skat trak.

Yes I will be selling the 17/24, I have no need for it as for the 12/17 I will have it refurbished! How much does impros or skat trac charge for this service. Thanks!

    $70-80.

Or you can try the SBT service for $25. Some guys are saying it comes out good.

    I don't know, I've never tried it.

I can honestly say that if i didn't know any better, I would say they were brand new. We just had two of them done for $65 shipped and you should have seen the ones we sent, they looked like something that went through a can opener. It took a week to get back because we wanted our exact impellers back. We compared them to a couple brand new Skat-Traks and I couldn't tell any difference other than the color.
