Is the mfd suppose to reset itself on hours of use?

Today I was getting my 95 750 sl ready to use for the Fourth of July weekend. I had not started it in a month or so. Before it had read 26 hours of use. Now it reads 1 hour. Is that normal? The ski appears to run fine and all the functions of the mfd appear to work. The battery was stored outside the ski.

It's not designed to do so, but it does happen. I removed my battery 3 times, and the hour meter reset two of those... For the most part they /usually/ hold the hours however.

Mine reset back to zero also when I changed the CDI. I don't know why.
