    No rmps at WTO

to make a long story short my neighbor came over and started turning the screws on my 96slt780. now when i hit the throttle the most i can get is 3900 rpms. i found the page of what the settings are suppose to be, tried the settings on both screws, nothing changed. still only get 3900 rpms on it. the problem i had before he messed with the screws was #2 would drip fuel in the carb after you ran it. shut the fuel switch off and it would stop. took the fuel and oil lines off the carb and sprayed carb cleaner thru the carb and the drip stopped. don't know why he messed with the screws. also had hesitation in mid range before he messed with the carbs. is the gold screw the low idle and the black on high idle? any ideas where to start? ski will start and idle just can't get more than 3900. never done a carb re-build, pretty sure i could. help please!!!

Is there a red lamp or warning message on the MFD display?

The RPM is limited while in the water, or on the trailer?

On these old Fuji engines, cab rebuilds are HIGHLY recommended. Click below for more info

no warning lite or meesage. just goes to 3900 and stops. also there is a linkage connected to the #2 carb. is that for the oil pump or is that for something else? Click image for larger version.

ID:	203838 or is it to advance the timing? i think he messed with the set screw that is connected to the linkage. is a carb rebuild hard to do for newbies?

No offense, but if you don't know what the adj screws are, how do you know you have them set properly to factory spec?

Look in the tech section under "Fuji fuel". There's a Mikuni carb manual posted on there. It will help you identify all the components.

Then you can set your screws accordingly.

Please note that those plastic caps can be removed by pulling them off.

i looked over the mikuni manual. from what i see he was messing with the mixture needles. from what i'm seeing on there rebuilding the carbs don't look that hard. i've never worked on carbs, if i take my time and keep checking the manual is it something that someone like me(someone who has never done it before) can do?

3900RPM in the water, or on the trailer?

You need to check the carburetor synchronization, which is what the adjustment on the shaft between the carbs is about. It is used to make the throttle plates in all three carbs open and close exactly together.
