1999 Yamaha XL1200Limited engine alignment question
Ok, I am putting my ski back together. I pulled the motor to flush it out with gas and clean it up. 3rd cylinder oil line pooped off, so I replaced the cylinder and piston and put everything back together.
My question is, how much gap do I want with the coupler? I left the mounts intact, but it looks like the coupler is not even. The manual says 1-2 mm, so I keep trying to get it even all the way around. Is there a trick to do this, or do I just keep beating the motor around until I get it even. Just looking for a tip to make this easy if there is one.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
I also posted pics of the engine. Let me know if you see any obvious mistakes. Sorry about the pics. New guy here...
