MFI is supposed to display the clock all the time.

What exactly DOES it do when you press the Start button?

    Carburetor engine, or fuel injected?

    Two or three cylinder?

    Which model year?
Last two digits of the HIN number plate on the rear deck.

Check battery voltage while the engine is cranking. It must be over 10.6 volts, or you will not have spark on a carburetor engine.

Right now, it cranks but has no spark - correct?

Press and hold the bilge button. Does the bilge pump run?

If yes, continue to hold the bilge button and press Start. Does it crank and start?
    Lanyard in place, of course.

You need to work through the various no-spark tests.

BTW, both spark plugs must be connected to the spark plug wires AND both spark plugs must be in contact with the cylinder head. Both spark plugs fire together, in series. You will not have spark unless both plugs are able to fire.

Start by unplugging the lanyard kill switch wire in the electrical box. Sometimes the switch goes bad and kills ignition.

After that, check into the stator. You can find the test details in the link below, for the Red engines
