GPR Throttle Cable - Is there an aftermarket option?

So this weekend, I learned how a throttle cable that has TOO much tension, when pulled wide open can pull the cable out of the plastic housing that splits to the TB and the oil pump.

A mistake I obviously made when I installed my motor.

I don't really feel very confident in the plastic disc that goes inside the tubing to pull the throttle. I don't want to spend $150 to have to worry about it.

So are there any aftermarket options for this?

I still have my oil pump, so I need to keep a cable the splits for two quadrants. And yes I know the pump can fail, and no I don't want to put a block off plate on. Thanks for the suggestion. Ive been premixing all my life, and I'm over it.

    I just read the thread:

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...w-Gpr-Bulletin

And no, I haven't had the service bulletin done. I'll have to check into it.

I called FBC here in San Diego, and the Service manager said that they are aware of the recall from the service bulliten. They said bring it by and they will replace the cable no problem, no charge.

Ok, so I went to the dealership and they told me that my ski already had the recall cable replaced over 3 years ago.

Now my question is: Why did the throttle cable pull out of the plastic disc and not the oil pump cable? Obviously the cable was not adjusted correctly at the TB. Wouldn't that be he fault of the dealer that installed the new cable?
At the dealer, they couldn't tell me who installed the cable, but I'm only te second owner and I bought it from a guy who has lived here his whole life.

Should I call the 1-800 number for yamaha, or is that wasting my time?
