    Looking to buy a new RXT-X 260

Hey everyone. I am looking into purchasing a new RXT-X 260. I do alot of long distance rides and alot of coastal riding here in Virginia Beach. My question is this. How well does the RXT-X compare to cruising on long distance rides compared to my 2008 Yamaha FXSHO Cruiser. Yes, I know the RXT-X has it hands down on the speed and quickness, but how about comfort and fuel usage. I think both brands are awesome ski and will stay reliable if the correct care is take with these two machines. I would also like to know what you guys have paid out the door prices with a trailer. Thanks so much and any input is greatly apprciated.

Hull on new RXT-X is great. I'd highly recommend you call dealer in Richmond for input. He's a great guy. Might consider the one with the suspension but it's heavier, more expensive and apparently difficult to service. I opted for simpler RXT-X without suspension. Rides great.

I "almost" bought 1 on friday... decided that it was just too much money...
The best deal I could muster was 13,200 out the door for the Boat ONLY...
Single trailer was another 700-1000 depending on quality & dealer.

The storage space is set up A LOT DIFFERENT than on previous years 3 seaters.
My 03, 07, 08 have similar storage == awesome. The new S3 hull is quite a bit less.
So you may take that into consideration IF you need to pack a lot. Like cooler, extra jacket,
    emergency supplies, etc etc.
The "glove box" is about double to triple of my 07,08 Rxt's , but the main
front hood storage is only about 1/3 to 1/2...
That is 1 of the reasons too, that I went to the older hull !! hth

Seems like $13,500 w/cover OTD - w/o a trailer is about the best out there....
~Foggy you should try out the new S3 hull before making up your mind.

Talking More storage than you think!

You and others should know that per the owners manual you CAN remove the front storage bin and run just fine on the X 260. This opens up a HUGE area for storage using a soft-sided bag - far more than anything else out there! I do it all the time!

kingsland marine in richmond is where I bought my rxtx saturday before last...price is on their website. coleman powersports in woodbridge was a little cheaper and theirs came with a universal cover...but I would buy the seadoo cover....and I called the seadoo dealer down your way towards the beach, but can't remember how much they wanted. happy with the boat so far, only 3 hrs, Just make sure you check all the clamps, and the supercharger hose clamp is supposed to be cranked at 35lbs...mine wasn't and 15 min into the ride came off. not hard to fix. Paid 15400 ish with the cheaper seadoo trailer and cover and fire exinguisher and strap.
