Acceptable Mods to New 08 RXT
So I bought a new 2008 RXT on friday......
Want to keep it mostly stock so warranty is good for the full
These are the things I AM going to mod immediately:
1. OPAS ----- WOW what a shitty invention..
Never rode my 07 rxt with it.
Think maybe I'll go with the RE or Riva "full"
opas b/o plates
2. PUMP WEDGE ----- Yowsa!! This baby plows some h2o with
my fat ass on it
I have an extra wedge so this is a no brainer
These are things I'd like to do IF my warranty isn't voided:
3. S 3 Charger --- Freshly rebuilt by Jerry.
Just sitting here, so I could sell it or
put it on. This boat is OK, but the better
charger is WAY noticeable. Would wake it up
4. 3" Air intake OR 4 " Kanaflex ---- Have both sittin' here, maybe
think the Riva 3" system would
be less "modded" as BRP might see
Also, that RRFPR is a costly biaahtch for the 08+ models. So
I'd like to still run stock fuel system if at all possible. Even just
going to 42 psi injectors would be cheaper, but don't want to
get it rich on bottom end.
What do you all think about the warranty situation
and the fueling situation ???

I also want to so an intake grate upgrade.
Which one is better for top speed. I ride mostly in small chop, so
I don't need one that 'scoops' a ton.
Thanks for any help or suggestions

I'm in the same position as you are. Last week, I decided to add the S3 charger and the 14/19r to my ski. I've got the 2 year Best Warranty and doubt I will be using it...
Even with the S3 hooked up to the stock intake - my RXT runs WAY better than it did with the stock supercharger!!! My first run out - I was on the limiter at a little over 1/2 throttle with the 14/19r. The pull from the ski is a huge difference over stock, and I can easily return my ski to an "untouched" appearance. I just added 2mm to the trailing edge and a 2 degree wedge to it and am going to go test it out in 90 degree weather ... I'll keep you posted.

Mod away... if you ever have a major problem then put it back to stock and take it to the dealer...

What speed do you think you will get out of it?
