Stuck thermostat, bad engine temp sensor... just a few thoughts.

It might be the sensor on the waterbox that is going off ... if there is not enough cooling water going thru the exhaust it will show HEAT on the display. Usually this is due to a partial blockage somewhere in the open loop cooling ... water comes from the pump and goes to the intercooler, then to the front of the exhaust manifold, then out thru the waterbox. You could have a blockage in the hoses, in the intercooler water passages, or the three little holes at the bottom of the J pipe (where it goes into the waterbox) might be blocked too. Lots of info on this, if you have questions still, try doing some searches on here to find other threads about this ...

well its getting delivered tomorrow the thermosat was ripped off it and there are no issues there.. im guessing its in the open loop system although we tested the ski and cant get it over 179 degrees... so it cant be overheating im guessing a sensor has gone haywire.. im going to check the tubes from the pump for blockage maybe even the plate could be plugged up.. for 1500.00 im not complaining i did test the compression and its at 143-150 across all 3 so atleast the block is good!

well i have this whole ski apart! seems to be no issues with the thermostat or watercooling side.... the exhaust was all messed up some of the baffle broke off and was all jammed up in there... i cut the water box, removed pcs did the tip of the day waterbox mod and welded her back shut... hopefully that was the issue causing restriction and tripping the temp sensor on the waterbox..

second is how it looks after my mod work
think the water box is ok now or should i have just gotten a new one?
NOISE is no issue to me
