    Top speed run = >>>

Tried my first top-speed runs yesterday.
    2009 FZS.
Conditions: Air Temp 88 degrees F. Water temp: 77 degrees. Elevation: 733 ft.
Best result: 66.5 mph on GPS. Trim +2 (tried 0 and +1 as well - 0.1-0.3 mph slower)

Does this sound about right for a bone-stock just-broken-in FZS?

This is exactly what my FZS did bone stock. I think it will improve a bit when the weather cools...

our 09 FZR ran just over 68 completely stock... 200ft, fresh water, half a tank, trim at +1. granted it was only in the low 80's with water temps mid 70's. Conditions can make a huge difference.

When my Fzr was bone stock i got speeds between 65.6 and 68.2. These speeds varied based on time of day, humidity, trim, and amount of fuel. For me the best speed was reached when it was 100 % humidity 93 degrees and water temp at 75 degrees. However for the life of me i have never been able to duplicate this since, even with numerous aftermarket parts

68.6 for me bone stock (superman). I can consistently touch 67.0 but never anything much higher.

removing the ribbon is a must .
I used to never get REV limit, but with ribbon remove.
    I can get limit 7500 RPM with a few more mile/h +.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like mine's an "average" FZS, then.

What's a "ribbon", and how/why would I want to remove it?
