Simply put...they were not making money on pwc's. They never made money during any one year while in the business and they finally couldn't survive that way any longer (this was the main reason). Another factor, they had nothing really ready to go to handle the new 2006 EPA exhaust standards in order to produce a line of watercraft for the public...they had a lot of hurdles to overcome in a very short time frame. There were a few other minor issues that also came into play but with everything put together, they just deemed it better to cut their losses and call it quits.

I remember something about the fuel injection supplier being bought out by seadoo's parent bombardier too.

But yeah, they had great, innovative products, but no profits to justify them.

I could be wrong, but I remember hearing something about them being sued for using some one else's technology. The Fitch thing maybe, God it was so long ago. Maybe I'm thinking about the EFI sleds. JetskiMN is right they were not making much of a profit on PWC's, but I thought the Genesis was 2006 EPA legal, not my type of craft so, I'm not for sure.

Shouldn't be too hard to work out from my end any way.
Purchased 5 fuel injected Polaris and over a period of 2 years did not have all ski's going for longer than 5 days at any time .All from the same continual reasons .HHMMM why don't we make some more of these buckets of excrement !
Out the back of my house lies the remaining ski's .I am waiting for the rubbish collection and my self to strike a deal .They have said what are we going to do with them even they know they are useless

Bernie, it's a shame you don't live closer. We'd take that rubbish off your hands.
