New Member, Looking for a Fast Reliable Closed Course Ski

Hey All, Ive been a long time member at greenhulks sister site, x-h20.com. Im getting out of the stand-up game, and looking to get into racing the big boats (RXP/RXT, FZR/SHO, Ultra). Im actually selling my Superjet to fund this buy (http://www.x-h2o.com/showthread.php?79996-2008-Yamaha-Superjet-LOADED!). My question to you all is what would be the best ski in the $7-10k range that could make a competitive closed course racer, and what should I look for when buying used (obviously brand and model makes a difference). Thanks.

    p.s. I found a 09 FZR for 11K new 0 hours, is that good?, also is there a difference between a 09 -10 RXP-X?

This is a very competive PWC .....In any class. It will turn fast enough the throw you off, everytime.

Just wondering, how does that Polaris compare to the SeaDoo X4 hull?

When we did race the Pro785, the X4 was VERY competitive. However, the Pro certainly had the power advantage, and an athletic rider could get in front of a X4 and hold them off, every race.

With that said, if you are looking at modern runabout, you'll have your doors blown off on either one by the latest big dollar monster skis.

i went to a race on sunday and all i saw in the 800cc class was x4's. but whats nice about the 800 class is most xps and some times a pro and they are fast but they are not the high doller boats that are running the open class.. then yes you will get blown away with ether boat.. but this is what i have seen in my area races..
