So you can see my mods my current best speed to date is 71.4 @7240 (weather was about 60 degrees and I was running the 800 grate) usual speeds are more like 69ish. I am going to be doing the keyway this winter. What else can I do to get some more speed? whats next? I dont want to here ANYTHING about "packages" i just want some good imput and ideas!! i dont have anything against the packages but I dont want to start anymore conflicts!!
thanks in advance!!

2) Head Milling (of course you will have to run 92 or 93 gas now).
With those 2 things, you could turn a bigger prop. I would also change the 85mm to an 87mm. But some will debate that, so i say try both to see which one is faster for your particular set-up.
Step your sponsons (this is more for handling than for speed).
last but not least---add some bling.

sponsoms are allready stepped!! Porting will come but not until next winter I allready have riva heads are you saying mill them or have my stock head reworked?

you could sell the riva heads (or whatever they are) and use (mill) the stock one. I honestly think the stock one is stronger since it's all in one piece.
If you were for some reason bent on keeping the aftermarket 3 piece heads, you could always have those done too.

anyone want to buy som riva heads? I do plan on sending my stock head to lowell to be reworked as soon as the weather turns bad.

Turning a 14-20 to 7240 and only running 71 indicates a possible hull problem from my point of view.
I was turning the same prop all summer with an 87 nozzle 7200 at 72, 1200 grate and some much needed hull repair, no package at that point.
Look at your pump shoe, 4' level, .075 you know the drill. It makes a big difference.

shoe has been off twice it sits up as far as she can!! i measured it dry (before sealing) and after and she sits all the way up!! I dont have a picture of "my filter" but here is a link to rivas site :

Something doesn't make sense, rpm is rpm regardless of heads, filter, etc.. With that prop and rpm your speed should be closer to 75 if the hull is right. What tach are you using???
