    1997 Polaris SL 900 MODS

    Hey guys new here would like to hear from you all.. What I'am needing is this A online owners manual that I might be able to download. 2nd Some great websites for mods for a 1997 SL 900. Also if anyone has anything constructive that would help in perfomance I like to hear it. P.S. I am new to this so if you will post in laments terms

    What do you want to achieve?

    Higher top speed, stronger acceleration, or better rough water handling? Just to name three.

    In general, you can get more of one by giving up some of the others.

    How much money do you have to put towards the project?

    How long have you owned this SL900?

    Well I would like a faster take off... just bought both SL 900 and they are in GREAT shape.. The motor on both feel strong.. I'am always a performace person and I'am the type of person that I will find the money to do mods. thanks for reply

    Had a great time on the river today... but am left with a new question to be answered.. One of the Jet ski turns to the right great but not so great to left... like almost not at all till I lean to the left... and that only helps a little.. any answers?

    Looked to me like you had good speed. I would say go for some more rip.

    Better get it to turn first though!

    Any serious racer knows that you HAVE to turn LEFT!!! After all, doesn't the NASCAR rulebook state something like...go fast, turn left, go fast, turn left, repeat...

    Yup you got that right...Today the Sl900 that had that problem broke the steering cable..OUCH yup called around its like a $190 part... So this will be my first fix of the year...

    Congratulations on the SL900 selection. I personally think this is a fine ski. Do you have the 96 or 97? The single best performance upgrade I think for this model is the jet pump, the 6 vane stainless stator will give you much better hook up (and top end IMO). Other bolt on mods include impeller (depending on what you are after top or bottom end), ride plate and sponsons for better handling as well. I don't think more intrusive options are worthwhile for this model given the cost.
