    porpoising sho/ riva plate

09sho; stage 1 for starters: pwr filter, intake manifold upgrade, reva toploader, freeflow exhst, solas 13/22, pump seal, riva plate, stock sponsons.
just finished install...going to have nightmares about that intake manifold upgrade for some time i suspect. she tends to porpoises with two clicks up on relatively calm water. Am i expected to shim the back and won't that reduce top speed? Am i missing something here or did i put the reva plate on up side down?

Pull out the shop manual, set trim to neutral and verify that it is set to MFG spec.

Set trim to neutral and go for it - if it does not porpoise then the issue is your settings. I got tired of waiting for the Riva Sho plate so I cannot speak to it, but if you are getting 2 clicks off of neutral, you should expect something less than perfect without other tweaks. Perhaps you could move your weight around to also offset but I doubt its a problem with the plate.

All plates will porpoise with too much angle.

It's all about the set up. The more power your ski makes the more angle you can run. I doubt it's an issue with the plate design. Read the post in the 2-stroke section about plate setup.

i have about 10 min on ski since install. I inspected pump this morning and realized i forgot to tighten grease cone. Will i have to remove, clean and repack bearings or is there a easier remedy?

They are substituting the R&D plate as the Riva plate for FX SHO has not been released yet.
