While i was out tuning today im pretty sure i blew my head gasket.

Would you see a 600 RPM drop from a blown head gasket?

I hit a over boost cut today and made a massive back fire and straight away went from turning 9000 RPM to now only turning around 8400 rpm.

Everything else is the same before the cut etc. Boost, timing, etc.

How do you tell if the head gasket is compromised on OL cooling?

I have pulled the head off there is no water in the cylinder but the spark plug in the centre looked cleaner than the outer two.

Time for block guard and Riva pistons, gasket and studs me thinks.

Oh if anyone is wondering if the Riva valvetrain without ligtend valves can handle 9000+ RPM the answer is yes no problem.
