I was running 7.9 in 1/8th mile on the GPR pictured on the left....top speed was only 72 but got there in a hurry. But it was built mainly for that.

hey guys, the numbers that were posted mean nothing as they are horribly innacurate. They were just "time trials" and they would click the stop watch when the ski hit the start buoy and then again when he passed the finnish buoy. The problem is the skis were not approaching the start buoy at the same speeds so the numbers mean nothing.

I understand that today they ran head to head drag racing which makes for an exciting event.

I wasnt there, but the results i heard were that JD 1 and Les Cooke went head to head 3 times. Les walking Dan twice and Dan walking Les once. I heard neither ski pulled on the other more than 1 boat length. It was very close.

    Jerry,

We've got video of all three runs that show their position around 3/4 track (they wouldn't let me line up on the finish line). Your right though, neither boat would pull the other after 1/2 track.

I can post them later if you like.

they need to dig up something like in car drag racing and have a string strong enough to hold the ski but when on the gas it break free and then its equal start the reaction time would get you
