Need Advice: Buying an 06' RXT

A local dealer is selling leftover 2006 RXTs for $8999 out the door. That is extremely tempting!!! (Yes, I know it's a damn good price).

However, I have a few questions:
    1. Does the 06' skis have the ceramic washers that I keep reading about?
    2. Are there any other concerns with this year ski?
    3. Does anyone know if BRP advertises any extended warranty specials on their website or can only dealers get that info? Also, when are they most likely to run a special?
    4. Also, my old RXDI had VTS which I used quite a bit. Is it common for 3 seaters to not have a trim system? Does the ski ever seem to "want" it to plane correctly?

    Thanks in advance.

Simply put...2 girls ages 8&6. Tubing, skiing, etc. Law says you need a "spotter" for towing, right?

where im at yes. you do need a spoter
so driver+spoter+extra seat for the person who is getting towed and you may tow only 1 person with a three seater acording to our regulations here.

So if I bought a new 06', say with an extended warranty, would installing the metal washers jeopardize my warranty?

Also, what is involved with the install? Is there an on-line tutorial anywhere?

I don't think it would void your warranty. Hell you're doing BRP a favor IMO. If you decide to do it yourself there are some specialty tools you'll need that are available from Jerry's store. http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...cPath=18_11_46

There's nothing to be afraid of. The first real work i did on my ski was replacing the stock 03 clutch with an upgraded version. I used none of the specialty tools(even though they would make it much easier) and i haven't had a problem with my SC since. Check out some threads on the topic. It looks/sounds way harder than it is. This should get you started.

I bought an 06 RXT this summer and the family just loves it. It would fit 3 people, but that's what boats are for. It does fit 2 adults in comfort.
I haven't done the metal washers yet. I have the extended warrenty. According to my dealer, they haven't had any 06s with clutch problems.
I do the service work myself and keep receipts of all the oil and filters.
Here's a link to a "how to" for putting in Riva washers, should be the same for any SC washer swap.
