help plan mods for this winter.
so i have a bone stock 100 hour gp1200r with nothing but a d plate and chip.
im gonna continue to ride it stock the rest of this summer. i dont think the pump tunnel not being reinforced is going to hurt me for another month or so.
i plan on taking it to school with me this winter, so i can winterize it and then work on it and not worry about rushing/ having it back together before the weekend, ect.
so my plans so far are as follows. correct me if i have something down i should not.
-pump tunnel reinforcement bought through the greenhulk store, done by following osidebills write up, using the pump shoe brackets, 5200, ect.
-wave eater clips and springs
-switch to premix, block off plate, zip tie up floats for oil.
-riva pump seal kit
-riva top loader intake grate
-riva performance ride plate
-hydro turf matts
-riva bildge pump kit, the standard 115 dollar one with the non handlebar mount switch.
thats 920 dollars ish. all new. might try to scoop up some things on here used, such as the plate, and grate.
wear ring? should i do that? ive got a slight chatter at idle out of the water, but cant hear anything making noise when hitting waves and getting air. how to tell for sure?
and then im gonna pull the carbs and clean them. if they are bad ill probably be sending them to osidebill for rebuilding.
goal here is to have a reliable river ski, with occasional use in salt water. not concerned about mph and stuff just yet. after all of the above is settled, ill probably do heads, free flow exhaust kit, then solas impeller to make it a full stage 1 ski.
plan is to maybe attend mudbug
thanks for your help you all greenhulk is an awesome forum

nobody has anything to say? silence means yes?

your list is a good start you could just pull your pump and inspect the wear ring for any high spots as they swell sometimes and rub the impeller then grease and reinstall

Sounds like you have a plan, pull that pump out, post some pics so the tuners and members can see,and while your there, put on a solas 14/20 concord impeller. For less than $1500 could build yourself a quick nimble and reliable 65-67 mph ski, And there's always room for more.....

yeah im wondering about the wear ring. i might just do that. a solas impeller wont hurt having no motor mods to spin it? id just throw on a new wear ring while i was in there to be honest. and a 14/20 is better than the riva provided one in the stage one kit which is a 14/19? eventually ill have those riva heads

I have an 02 1200R. This is whats been done to the ski:
ADA 145 psi head
r&d non jims plate.
Nujet Prop tweaked ( i think its a 13/18.5 not sure though)
800 intake grate
That there gave me 73.4 @ 7210 rpm's. I think u can find most of that stuff used and would save u alot. I loved the 1200 with that power, it would kill *most* 4 strokes out here in CT.

is jims plate really worth the extra money? how much faster will a bone stock riva ride plate get me, then how much would a jims modified one get me over that.
what mph ish would i see out of the mods i have listed above in the first post? like 65?
im thinking about getting a riva intake grate, ride plate and shoe seal kit right now. any objections or is that going to make me need to reinforce my tunnel that much sooner?

since i have no cat, what kind of two stroke oil should i be running? im still oil injected too.

so to that list in my original post you would add an impeller and wear ring and call it good? what kinda speeds that going to give me?
