I Know what Killed my SLT, Fuel Pump, Help Please????

Ok i've had alot of prob's with my ski recently, burnt piston etc as im sure alot of u have seen

I've now found the problem to be the fuel pump, i found it by chance, thought id check my fuel filter, emptied the pot.

Put it back on and it wouldn't refill with gas, after a few goes at starting the ski, i then hit the fuel pump with a bar and it filled straight up

I removed the pump tonight and tried to strip it down, one of the screws snapped off on the pump, however got the rear chamber off not the front.

Found the ports not to put anything through wether blowing or sucking on the feeds, i then hit it again and again it start to let air pass through

Can anyone tell me what the mikuni fuel pump put out per hour??

Would one of these pumps be alright?
    DF52-92, its a triple putting out 35 a hour

I cant believe this has been the route of my problems

    thanks
    Neil

The 780 came stock with the pentagon fuel pump, which is 65L per hour.

I imagine the 35L may work, but I'd get another pentagon to be sure.

So you can't get the fuel pump apart? Best bet is to get the rebuild kit for around $20 VS. the $65 for a new pump.

Post #3 has all the info you seek.

I did not know that the stock pump was that high. They do not make those pumps any more right? My new mikuni will be here tomorrow, should you not use it on the 780?

The pentagon pumps are still available.

I wouldn't use the round one on a 780. I'd rebuild the one you have.

On mikuni website they do list a black pentagon fuel pump, however it is a twin outlet not a triple pump

    Neil;

Why don't you just rebuild your pump like xilint suggested? You can get the broken screw out easily with a screw extractor.

The black dual ouput is the same as yours, just missing 1 fitting.

You can easily add the third fitting to the black one.

That pump looks a little dirty. Make sure to clean it up really well prior to rebuild.
