Exclamation Replacing carbon ring while supercharger is out? Good idea?

I'm about to rebuilt my s/c and herd that I should be replacing my carbon ring while I have the s/c out, I have no idea what a carbon ring is or where it is located. I also herd it's a good idea to check my pumps for sloppiness.

Could Simone please give me some advise on these two issues?
    Maybe some picture.

    Thanks guys.
    Scott.

I have 91 hours. I have no idea where the carbon ring is or how to replace it, I was thinking about doing the s/c rebuilt myself how hard is it?

I was also thinking of replacing the fuel filter, is it located in the tank or is it inline?

On the drive shaft inside the hull there is a black accordian looking boot with a clamp on each side. The carbon ring is on the engine side of the boot. Under the clamp. You should be able to see the front of the ring. You might as well replace it while in there. Not to expensive

I circled it in the red line. Its the black piece.

Also, if your going to replace it I would replace the black boot also. Some have noticed after alot of hours the boot shrinks overall length putting less pressure on that silver plate allowing the ski to cavitate.

Thanks for the information, stupid question but I don't need to drain the oil to replace the ring do I?

The fuel filter is located in your tank and more than likely does not need to be replaced.
