air intake? is this going to work?
alright I heard and felt my buddies rxt with the fizzle cold air, I liked it. so I decided to try building my own, custom and bragging rights. This is how I plan on doing it on my rxp. 4" K&N air filter, 4" pipe with a 45 degree bend. and a rubber piece to fit. Its gonna be right above the supercharger... will this work?

It will work, but for the best airflow go without the airfilter.
This has all been tested, but don't use the setup in heavy surf. (water ingestion)

You will be sucking alot of hot air with that set up. Not good for making power.

That setup makes the best power IMO.
I have tried rear air, filter up front with kanaflex and your setup with just a 90 off the supercharger with a filter.
The best by far was the 90 setup with filter.
I had 3 florites down each side of the cowling which probably helps heaps.
Running the same thing on my turbo and air intake temps from the Motec logging sits at around 13 degrees celcius after the Riva intercooler.

Wouldnt that aluminum pipe get heat soaked pretty bad?

While it'll breath easy enough...it'll be drawing in nothing but hot air.
Lotsa air is good....lotsa cool air is better.
That filter is more restrictive than a SS screen.

I took it for a rip yesterday it gave it more low end. But it feels like I loss top end on the deal. It was just a custom trial that didnt work out no loss. Whats the best way to get pure cold air?

rear air set up. It works good as long as you can keep water out of the intake such as during heavy surf or when doing spin outs.
