Fishing Rack - 2009 Kawasaki Ultra LX 260

OK, we have finally completed the fishing rack on my new ski. Works GREAT and it's extremely secure. Required no drilling of holes, etc. Can be removed in just a few minutes. All aluminum with all connectors being S/S. Fish finder/GPS mounted as well.

I broke my neck wind surfing 25 years ago - after fishing yesterday I decided that I have to give up and go back to a center console or flats boat. My neck just won't tolerate the ski's ride, but it sure was a blast! Will sell/trade the ski for a flats boat.

To anyone thinking of jet ski fishing, I highly recommend it as great fun, economical, extremely exciting when you hook into a good size fish, and it fits in the garage! Just be sure you don't have a history of back or neck problems.

Best to all - what a great forum,
    Jack

nice! i did almost the exact same thing using turn buckles to "lash" the basket down to the ski.
i had mine made using 1/4" x 2" flat bar stock aluminum.
looks like you're ready to chase some fish!
what humminbird FF did you go with?
2 more weeks for me until i head back to the coast to do my jetski fishing in the Pac NW.

can you post up some more pics on how you mounted the fish finder? as well as how you installed the transducer?
    Thanks

I went with the Humminbird 385ci -- combo GPS and FF -- mounted on a RAM mount just in front of the handlebar, on the little horizontal surface in front of where the ski instruments are.
Very happy with it so far - mounted transducer on the stern so it gives temp readings as well.
I removed the Kawasaki "paddle" speed pickup (which was not ever remotely accurate) unit and used the through hull hole to run the cable. Simple.
