Smile Depth Finder For my Seadoo? Help

My 09 GTI SE 155 is in need of a depth finder. It did not come w/ one new. I've learned that a "Hull Thru" transponder should work fine.?. I'd rather not drill into the ski except for the monitor part of course. I'm using it for fishing and of course safety. Anyone have any suggestions on models that you prefer or have experience with? Thanks in advance! Im also considering the GPS as well for plotting where the holes are in the big raritan bay..

I have the same model cept it's a 2007. I epoxied the transducer beside where the intake would be inside the hull with marine goop. Basically a slow drying silicone. So far on both of our machines they are working just dandy. We're seeing depths of over 1000 feet so depth wasn't impacted much if at all. We are using the humminbird 385ci's on ours and love them. They work past the max speed of the ski's. Water temp feature is kinda moot since the transducer is inside the hull but other than that there great. I mounted ours on the front shield. At first I thought it might look kinda goofy up there but it kinda goes with the mirrors and have had alot of nice comments on it. Nice as well you just have to look slightly down and see the display and still keep your eyes looking where they belong......looking in front. Go for it man, you won't be disappointed.
