Running at 10.2 will do the following:
1. The excess fuel actually tends to delay combustion, in effect it as though you are retarding the timing. This should promote a cooler running engine.
2. Since it retards the ideal combustion point you are also losing hp. You will see peak hp at approximately 12.5, however, that is running without a margin for error. An NA engine can safely run as lean as 12.8 at wot, however, a SC or nitrous engine has a a smaller margin for error and it is not typically best to run higher than 12.0, mid 11's is far safer. Remember your a/f ratio is the average of all the cylinders. There can always be one cylinder that is running leaner than the average. The amount of hp you will loose at 11.5 (versus 12.5) is not significant, plus you are far safer with less chance of detonation.
3. The other negative is that an engine running excessively rich can wash the oil from the cylinder walls and increase engine wear.
