Smile Skat magnum pumps and overstuffing AKA "The Buck"...

Do the skat magnum pumps still suffer from overstuffing resulting in the buck or is that reduced and/or alleviated due to their lower pressure and higher volume design?

    Thanks.

At a certain point they will all buck unless you relieve the pressure.

I have a Skat 14v 155mm on my conversion and with a 17/23 swirl its over stuffing at 85-86 mph with 2 Jetworks valves in the extension... Ive marked the holes to drill out the pump shoe but havent gotten the balls to actually drill them yet

That is crazy! Sounds like that is overstuffing more easily than an OEM. Is that the case?

I didn't really notice a diffeence on the Skat pump stuffing any sooner or later then the stock HO. More critical is shoe placement then anything when you get to those speeds. Just a few thous. makes a big difference.

BTW most Skat pumps are high pressure design and lower volume. They are designed to work with less water volume in CC applications.

    GPRXP... mostly stock engine.

Only adding external IC, greenwheel, and 42cc injectors.

Still stuffs just a little later.

Like I said, shoe placement is really what determines when it overstuffs. Good pressure relief takes over there.
