Angry Will I need a new rideplate?

I just went under the ski to see what caused the intake grate to fall off....and the rear bolt the goes into that rideplate ear type thing fell off and took that piece of the rideplate!!

    What the hell!!!!

This is exactly why i check my intake grate bolts almost everytime i ride. Geo, i'm sorry about your luck man. I would say in the best interest of not having any more problems you should replace the rideplate. Thats just what i would do.

stop tinkering and bring it back to the shop that tampered with this area of the hull and sacrificed the strength of the components when they trued it.

Is it leaking? If not remove ride plate and have a damn good TIG welder make a new ear. Thats it.
I never overtighten my grate bolts but do ALWAYS use loctite---permanent!

I had two inserts spin on an RXT. I used a time sert or nutsert, I can't remember which. But missing - WOW! That's why I tell my friend to check his every ride. He doesn't. I hope you find a good fix.
