Guys out on the water as I type this, proper waytoxheck oil level?

Did an oil change last night on my 06 rxp, put it on the hose ran it for 5 min checked oil level was dead middle on stick. On the beach right now after riding for 20 min checked oil reading way past indent. Any thoughts, I don't have my pump with me.

dont check on the beach. you need to have ski level... put it in calm water, remove seat, then check.... alittle high wont hurt the engine, just the performance.

Ok the water is dead calm, checked it again still way up there. Trying to make sence of how it could be so high right now when I checked it last night and it was perfect. Hmmm

most likely when it was on the trailer it was tilted towards the front or back. giving you a false reading on oil level....now that its in the water ( sitting level) its not where it was last night....

Idle the ski for a minute with you riding it. Turn it off and let it sit for 30 seconds. Check oil.
