    Fuel gauge issue

Fuel gauge on my sl650 is reading a constant full. it's the analog type with the needle. Took a look inside the cdi and the black wire was crushed between the top & bottom pieces, so I cut it, put a new end on and connected it back to the black terminals in the box.

Cranked it over a few times and it went immediatly back to full. I know I dont have a full tank right now. Checking ohms and it does change when moving the arm up and down.

    What else can I check?

It's the ohms that the gauge reads. 240 is empty and 33 is full.

There must be something wrong with the arm set up. On my old one, the wire came disconnected because the solder broke.

How about a pic of the sender?
